Lorelei thank you for your kind words. I am very passionately about this subject but it is so important to be passionate without becoming emotional. A well balanced view is far more helpful in these situations.

I'm glad you liked the post.

Hi Marie,

Congratulations on your business, it sounds like you really have a passion for your nutrition products & you need a good platform to promote them.

Networking is a great way to find contacts to inform about your products and expertise. It's also a great way to make build confidence & develop your business skills.

There are lots of different groups, mixed groups that meet early in the morning, weekly groups, monthly groups, women only groups. Some are more structured & have strict attendance rules, others are very casual.

I run 2 Athena groups in North London which are for women only. Each group meets monthly for a business lunch, following a structured agenda in a fun & unpressured environment.

We encourage all professional business women to visit and you will always find our meetings supportive & encouraging as we have ladies who are experienced and new to networking.

I personally find that ladies groups are less intimidating if you are new to networking & could be a better option for you to start with.

Athena has meetings all over the UK, so if North London is too far I'm sure I can help you find a nearby group if you would like to come to a meeting.

I hope this is helpful Marie. Please email me if you need any further advice. In the meantime you can find more information about The Athena Network here: www.theathenanetwork.com

Best of luck!

Hi Gina,
I'm reading today for the first time about networking groups.
I like the product I'm trying to share, fruits berries and veg in a capsule, and I love talking about nutrition, but I feel very stucked on how to share about it. As a foreign person, my family and friends are not here to help me start and I'd like to find a way because I think I could do well if I was on the right track. My problem is how to get on this right track.
After reading you, I understand I have to meet people and give myself a chance to share with others.
Network business meetings could be a good thing for me but I'm scared to feel uncomfortable because surrounded by women who will be over confident and not interested in me.
how could I find the right environment for me, are some meetings more open to beginners and some more for experience business women. How to know were I should go?(in hertfordshire, bedfordshire)
Thank you very much for your time if you answer me.
