I Love My iPhone
I got my iPhone six months ago. Finally succumbing to peer pressure I reluctantly walked into the O2 shop – feeling guilty every step of the way.
Until then I declined to buy in, mainly due to my naturally rebellious streak refusing to be a sheep and follow the trends and at the same time making a one woman protest against Apple’s DRM policy.
I have to admit, the minute I got my hands on my iPhone, I loved it. Much like the times when my baby boys were handed all snuffling and shiny to me, brand new and fresh from the womb, it really was love at first touch.
Now six months later, I have forgotten my fierce ‘forever’ loyalty to Sony Ericsson (hey you left me Sony, Windows Mobile was a deal breaker) and have sold my soul to Apple.
Consider the proverbial hat eaten. With gusto.
So what is it about this phone that has stolen my heart? Is it the seamless surfing making it easier to plough through endless blogs and articles without straining my pc weary eyes? Is it the continuous availability of productivity enhancing apps that save me hours of time to spend searching for and playing with more apps. Or is it just that – let’s face it the iPhone is the coolest, sleekest thing since sliced bread?
I can’t pinpoint which if these ‘changed my life’ but what I do know is that I no longer use my desktop for recreation, reading news, surfing or social networking. I hardly ever use my TV for viewing the few programmes that I like to watch.
In six short months, the iPhone has changed the way I work, communicate with friends, connect with the world and the way I relax. In a nutshell, it makes me more creative and more productive – which essentially is what technology is all about.

The Joy of Tech - iPone Comic Strip

You’re the kid that got the prize that I secretly wanted. Do you have to be so happy about it? I was saving for a laptop, to be released from the chains that bind me to my desk & PC. Should I divert my measly pile of pounds to an IPhone instead? It would be nice to be able to tweet and blog from my bed, rather than the kitchen, but is that enough? I don’t even know anything about the “apps” thing.
Gina, you may be a Girl Geek, but I’m a Clueless Coach (only from the tech perspective, I assure you.)
Oooh get you! I am teetering on the precipice and contemplating whether to get one. However I am a die hard HTC fan and the HTC Touch HD2 is on it way. It’s already gone to Vodafone. I am due an upgrade with Orange and I am considering the iPhone. It’s only because I’m getting quite a few support requests for them now, so the “dark” side beckons. I still haven’t decided yet but it’s interesting to read your comments.
Hmmm… being Libran and all that I haven’t made up my mind, so to quote Star Wars (yes I went there), the saga really does continue….
